Unit 2: Healthy food

🍅🍏 UNIT 2: WE KEEP HEALTHY 🍌🍍


We need food to grow, to be healthy and strong. But not every food is good for this. Some food, when eat it in a daily basis, can cause fatness, being tired, problems to sleep...

Healthy food: is good food that help us grow, be strong and healthy. These are: fruit, vegetables, cereals, milk products, fish, meat (not much), water,...

Unhealthy food: is food that can cause problems to our health and our body. These are: sweets, candies, junk food (hamburguers, pizzas, fries,...), sodas, ...


                           
How many times do we have to eat a day? 5 times. the 5 meals are:

  • breakfast: first meal of the day, after we get up. We need food to recharge our body to be active. It is recommended to eat fruit, cereals and milk products in this meal.
  • snack: a small portion of food in the middle of the morning, to keep our activity. For example a piece of fruit, a yogurt or a small sandwich.
  • lunch: main meal of the day, after school. It consists of 3 parts: first course, second course and dessert. We have to alternate different kind of healthy foods here.
  • snack 2: like snack 1, it has to be a small portion of food, such as fruit or a yogurt
  • dinner: last meal of the day, previous to go to bed, so it has to be light. It can be for example fish, soup, omelette,...


Origin of food:
  • Animal foods: this kinds of food comes form animals. For example: meat, fish, eggs, milk, cheese, ...
  • plants foods: this kinds of food comes from plants. For example: fruits, vegetables, cereals, oils,...
  • mineral foods: this kind of food comes from the earth. For example water and salt.
